Quarters are calendar quarters. A company’s own fiscal quarter sits in the calendar quarter it ends in, counting a quarter that runs a few days over (a 52- or 53-week year) as ending in it, and its own label is under each figure. Won, yen, New Taiwan dollar and yuan figures are converted to US dollars at the Federal Reserve H.10 average for the quarter; the filed figure is under each. Samsung is its chip division (Device Solutions).

Q3 2026 so far: 25 of 26 companies have reported. Still to report: YMTC.

This page puts the July to September 2026 results of the memory, storage and chip companies this site follows side by side, as the Q2 2026 roundup did for the quarter before. Each company reports in its own fiscal calendar, and each quarter sits under the calendar quarter it mostly covers. Seagate and Sandisk closed theirs on October 2, just past the calendar quarter, and NVIDIA’s and Marvell’s quarters here ran mostly May to July. Memory makers here are Micron (with its prepared remarks), Samsung, SK hynix and CXMT. Flash comes from Kioxia and Sandisk, and hard drives from Western Digital and Seagate. TSMC and Intel represent the fabs, and NVIDIA, Marvell, AMD and Arm design chips. Nanya, Winbond and Macronix make specialty memory. Phison, Silicon Motion and Maxio make controllers, and so does FADU, whose figures are preliminary. ADATA, Transcend, Longsys and Biwin sell modules. Some changes and margins are my arithmetic from a company’s own tables, and each group page says which. YMTC files no quarterly results this page uses. Each group has a page of its own, linked in its section, and Bit Market carries the other quarters.

The quarter in one line

The chart below takes one company from six of the groups, leaving out the memory and flash makers. Revenue grew from a year earlier at all six, and at four it more than doubled. Nanya’s rose 611.7% and TSMC’s 41.2%.

Memory and flash makers

Every memory and flash maker grew on the quarter, and by my arithmetic from their releases Micron’s revenue rose 30.8%, SK hynix’s 31.9% and Kioxia’s 40.3%. Samsung’s chip division grew 15%, CXMT’s revenue 19.3% and Sandisk’s 23%, as each prints it. Group pages for the memory makers and flash makers set these out in full.

At the top of the group, margins now sit near 80%. Micron’s GAAP operating margin was 80.7%, Kioxia’s non-GAAP margin 80.2%, SK hynix’s 80%, Nanya’s 80.0% and Sandisk’s 79.6%. Samsung’s chip division was at 72%. CXMT is left out of the margin comparison since, as the memory makers page explains, its operating profit under Chinese accounting includes government grants and investment gains.

Among the specialty memory makers, Nanya’s net sales rose 61.9% on the quarter, Winbond’s revenue rose 37.6% by my arithmetic and Macronix’s net sales rose 27%. Macronix’s operating margin was 53.4%, and a separate page compares the three specialty makers.

Module and SSD brands

All four module brands at least doubled their revenue from a year earlier. ADATA’s release prints 265.2%, and the Longsys and Biwin reports print 123.74% and 130.67%. Transcend’s 291.1% is my arithmetic from its income statement. On the quarter they split. ADATA grew 38.93% and Longsys 3.2%, while Transcend’s revenue fell 14.6% and Biwin’s 29.9%. Those last three changes are my arithmetic. ADATA’s operating margin was 28.9%, down from 33.5%, and Transcend’s was 52.4%, down from 75.1% in its second quarter. More detail is on the SSD and module brands page.

Controllers

Phison’s revenue was NT$86.076 billion, up 374.6% from a year earlier by my arithmetic, at a 38.22% operating margin against 38.84% in the second quarter. Silicon Motion’s revenue rose 131.5% from a year earlier by my arithmetic to $560.2 million, and its GAAP operating margin was 29.0%, from 22.4% in the second quarter. Maxio’s revenue rose 65.51% from a year earlier. FADU’s preliminary revenue rose 459.8% from a year earlier, at a 25.3% margin. All four are compared on the controller makers page.

Hard drives

Western Digital’s revenue grew 17% on the quarter and 55% from a year earlier, as its release prints it, and Seagate’s rose 16.6% on the quarter by my arithmetic. Both widened their GAAP operating margins, Western Digital’s to 46.7%, from 41.7% in fiscal Q4 2026, and Seagate’s 48.8%, from 43.0%. A hard drive makers page sets the two side by side.

Chip designers and the foundry

Against a year earlier NVIDIA’s revenue rose 106%, AMD’s 45%, Marvell’s 37% and Arm’s 27%, as each prints it, and TSMC’s 41.2%. NVIDIA’s GAAP operating margin was 66.2% and TSMC’s 58.7%, well ahead of AMD at 21.2%, Marvell at 16.8%, Intel at 15.3% and Arm at 13.9%. Intel’s margin was 5.0% a year earlier. Both the chip designers and chip producers pages go further, including why NVIDIA’s and Marvell’s quarters ended in July and August.

What it means for the drive you buy

Sandisk reports its consumer sales as a segment of their own, which shows where its growth came from. From fiscal Q4 2026 to fiscal Q1 2027 its Datacenter revenue rose 61% from $2,977 million to $4,802 million, and Edge rose 7% to $5,832 million, while Consumer fell 29% from $556 million to $397 million. Growth came from Datacenter and Edge, not from Consumer. My reading is that the flash going into shoppers’ drives and cards is not where this quarter’s money went. The Memory Cycle explains why the data center pulls so hard, and Best SSDs has the current picks for each tier.

Under each period are the months it mostly covers. A star marks a quarter that mostly falls in the calendar quarter before, because the company’s fiscal quarter ends only a month or so into this one. Year-on-year growth compares a company’s quarter with its same quarter a year earlier, in the currency it files in. The last four quarters add each quarter’s revenue in US dollars, shown where all four are filed.

Won, yen, New Taiwan dollar and yuan figures are converted to US dollars at the Federal Reserve H.10 average for the calendar quarter; the filed figure is under each.
